The main purpose of this course is to read a series of romantic narrative poems with a keen awareness of their formal principles. The canonical texts by well-known romantics that have manageable length will be read during the course, and very close readings are required.

 

Text Norton Anthology II (8th edition)and some other electronic texts downloadable from the Web.

Evaluation : Response papers 40%, Attendance and Class Performance 10%, One Term Paper 50%
