The main purpose of this course is to read a series of romantic narrative poems with a keen awareness of their formal principles. The canonical texts by well-known romantics that have manageable length will be read during the course, and very close readings are required.
Text : Norton Anthology II (8th edition)and some other electronic texts downloadable from the Web.
Evaluation : Response papers 40%, Attendance and Class Performance 10%, One Term Paper 50%
